after going to nara, we met up with a friend of kahori, the japanese woman, who took us to arashiyama, which is not too far outside of kyoto, where it's said to be incredibly beautiful when the trees are blooming in spring. sadly, we were in osaka a little too early during the year, but it was still a pretty sight. we walked over togetsukyō, "moon crossing bridge" to have a late lunch next to the river. then we looked around in the souvernier shops and so on, before heading back to kyoto. we had nice desserts, and went by a temple, and stayed a while to look around, prayed etc. 

that was the end of the first great day! I'm honestly so grateful thing turned out like they did; it was like faith that kiro would go to osaka the exact same time as me, and I don't think I would've made such amazing memories if it hadn't been for these great girls!
